Precautions for cleaning flannel blankets
Feb 09, 2023
1. Flannel contains wool. Although most fabrics have been shrunk, care should be taken to prevent shrinkage when washing flannel blankets. When washing flannel blankets, it is best to wash in warm or cold water. Do not use hot water, because hot water will cause the wool to shrink and harden. The best washing method is hand washing to reduce the damage to the fabric.
2. To wash flannel blankets, use neutral detergent instead of bleach, because bleach contains chloride, which will damage the material of the fabric and cause the fabric to turn yellow. The correct washing method is: after dissolving the neutral detergent in warm water, soak the flannel blanket for a few minutes, and gently rub the stain with your hands. Do not use a brush, which will damage the fluff of the fabric. The assembly causes the fluff to fall out. After washing, rinse with clean water, dry in a ventilated place after dehydration.
3. The best way to dry the flannel blanket is to use two bamboo poles to erect it in parallel, then place the blanket on top of it and place it in a cool place to dry slowly in the shade. Avoid direct exposure to the sun to prevent the blanket from fading and deforming. After drying, the blanket should be brushed again with a brush as much as possible to restore the original soft feel and beautiful appearance of the blanket.
